Qualifications

• BLS certification within 6 months unless department leader determines it is not required.
• High School Graduate.
• Experienced Optometric Ophthalmic Technician.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepares exam rooms and stocks supplies; keeps equipment clean.
• Prepares patient for exam; records ocular history and chief complaint.
• Performs basic diagnostic tests and visual screenings.
• Assists with glasses and contact lens orders.
• Maintains and calibrates ophthalmic equipment.
• Sterilizes instruments and assists in scheduling appointments.
• May assist with routine surgical procedures and postop care.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate patient care across lifespan.
