Job summary

EyeSouth Partners is seeking an Ophthalmic technician to support a high-volume ophthalmic practice, delivering compassionate, quality eye care.

This role involves travel to multiple offices, obtaining patient history, measuring visual acuity, automated refraction, administering eye drops, tonometry, and data entry into the EMR.

Candidates should have 2–3 years of ophthalmic/optometric tech experience, COA preferred, a high school diploma, reliable transportation, and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years ophthalmic/optometric technician experience preferred.
  • COA preferred.
  • Dependable transportation to travel to other offices as required.
  • Flexible with traveling to various locations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Willingness to seek instruction where needed and to recognize inconsistencies.
  • Graduation from an accredited high school.

Responsibilities

  • Obtaining and documenting patient history.

  • Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions.
  • Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR.
  • Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry).

Position Summary

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

Responsibilities

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include:

  • Obtaining and documenting patient history
  • Determining visual acuity
  • Performing automated refraction
  • Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
  • Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMRPproviding patient services
  • Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)
  • Pre-operative preparation of patient
  • Maintaining equipment and instruments
Qualifications
  • 2 to 3 years of ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred
  • COA preferred
  • Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
  • Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
  • The ability to recognize inconsistencies
  • Graduation from an accredited high school
