Overview

Eye Center of Texas has 6 Board Certified Ophthalmologists and 8 therapeutic optometrists across 6 locations. Our nationally renowned physicians and the most advanced medical technology allow us to provide patients with the highest caliber of care, including laser cataract surgery, LASIK, vision correction, glaucoma, retina and vitreous disease treatments and more. We are hiring an Ophthalmic Technician to support our high‑volume practice and deliver quality, compassionate care to every patient.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history
• Determine visual acuity
• Perform automated and manual refraction for diagnostic purposes
• Perform basic lensometry
• Conduct pupillary assessment
• Conduct visual field testing
• Perform PAM
• Perform basic ocular motility assessment
• Run automated keratometry
• Perform osmolarity testing
• Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as ordered by physician
• Enter data into EMR and provide patient services
• Measure intraocular pressure (tonometry)
• Prepare patients pre‑operatively
• Maintain equipment and instruments
• Perform ocular imaging, including OCT and topography
• Provide post‑operative education
• Work flexible schedules including travel to various locations
• Pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
• Seek instruction when knowledge is lacking and recognize inconsistencies

Requirements

• 3–5 years of ophthalmic technician experience preferred
• COA preferred
• Dependable transportation for travel to other offices as required
• Flexible with traveling to various locations
