Job summary

Clayton Eye Center is hiring an Ophthalmic technician to support a high-volume eye care practice across multiple Georgia locations. You will perform refractions, measure visual acuity, administer medications, and manage patient data in the EMR while ensuring compassionate patient service.

Applicants should have 2–3 years of ophthalmic experience, be able to travel to other offices, and possess strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 2 to 3 years ophthalmic or optometric experience preferred
• Graduation from an accredited high school
• COA preferred credentials encouraged

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history
• Determine visual acuity
• Perform automated refraction
• Administer eye drops, ointments and irrigating solutions
• Enter data into EMR and provide patient services
• Measure intraocular pressure (tonometry)
• Prepare patient for pre-op procedures
• Maintain equipment and instruments

We offer various services including Cataracts, Glaucoma, Retina, Family Eye Care, contact lenses, cosmetic, oculoplastic & reconstructive surgery with multiple locations on the south side of Georgia.

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include

• Obtaining and documenting patient history
• Determining visual acuity
• Performing automated refraction
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMRPproviding patient services
• Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)
• Pre-operative preparation of patient
• Maintaining equipment and instruments
• 2 to 3 years of ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred
• COA preferred
• Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
• Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
• The ability to recognize inconsistencies
