Job summary

Clayton Eye Center, part of EyeSouth Partners, seeks an Ophthalmic technician to support a high-volume ophthalmic practice, delivering quality, compassionate eye care. You will obtain patient history, determine visual acuity, perform automated refraction, administer eye drops, enter data, and assist with pre-operative preparation in a busy clinical setting.

Requirements include 2–3 years ophthalmic/optometric technician experience, a high school diploma, COA preferred, and reliable

Responsibilities

• Support a high-volume ophthalmic practice with quality, compassionate patient care.
• Obtain and document patient history and determine visual acuity.
• Perform automated refraction and administer eye drops as ordered by physician.
• Enter data into EMR and provide patient services.
• Measure intraocular pressure and assist with pre-operative preparation.
• Maintain equipment and instruments; travel to other offices as required.

Job description

We offer various services including Cataracts, Glaucoma, Retina, Family Eye Care, and contact lenses with multiple locations on the south side of Georgia.

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

This position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include

• Obtaining and documenting patient history
• Determining visual acuity
• Performing automated refraction
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMRP providing patient services
• Measurement of intraocular pressure (tonometry)
• Pre-operative preparation of patient
• Maintaining equipment and instruments
• 2 to 3 years of ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred
• COA preferred
• Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required
• Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
• The ability to recognize inconsistencies
