Job summary

EyeSouth Partners seeks an Ophthalmic technician to support a high-volume ophthalmic practice across multiple locations in Georgia. The role emphasizes patient history, visual acuity testing, automated refraction, and pre-/post-care tasks with data entry in EMR.

The position requires excellent customer service, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently. Travel between Tifton, Douglas, and Valdosta offices is expected.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient history.
• Determine visual acuity and perform automated refraction.
• Administer eye drops and related medications as ordered.
• Enter data into EMR and perform office/clinical tasks.
• Provide patient services and maintain equipment.

Job description

South Georgia North Florida Eye Partners offers a variety of eye care services from detection and medical treatment of eye diseases and injuries to advanced procedures including Lasik and cataract surgeries. We also have an on-site Optical Shop that carries the latest in designer frames and sunglasses. We offer several locations including Tifton, Douglas and 2 locations in Valdosta Georgia.

We are now hiring for an Ophthalmic technician that will support a high-volume ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to each patient needing complete eye care services.

his position requires customer service skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a degree of independent decision-making.

Ophthalmic skills include

• Obtaining and documenting patient history
• Determining visual acuity
• Performing automated refraction
• Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by physician
• Performing office duties and clinical tasks - entering data into EMR
• Providing patient services
• Maintaining equipment and instruments

Dependable transportation required to travel to other offices as required

• Must be flexible with traveling to various locations.
• Ability to pay attention to detail
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
• The ability to seek instruction in areas where he/she is not knowledgeable
• The ability to recognize inconsistencies

Education

• Graduation from an accredited high school
