Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient workups and ophthalmic testing.
• Document examination findings, assessments and plans accurately.
• Assist ophthalmologists during exams, procedures, and laser treatments.
• Obtain and document patient histories.
• Educate patients about diagnoses, medications, and follow-up care.
• Manage patient flow and communicate appointment status.
• Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic equipment.
• Triages patient calls according to protocols.
• Assist patients with contact lens insertion and removal.

Position Summary:

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting physicians, ensuring efficient patient flow, and delivering an exceptional patient experience. The ideal candidate possesses strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with both patients and providers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient workups and ophthalmic testing
• Accurately document examination findings, assessments, and treatment plans
• Assist ophthalmologists during examinations, procedures, and in-office laser treatments
• Obtain and document patient medical histories
• Educate patients regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment recommendations
• Ensure patients understand physician instructions and follow-up care
• Maintain efficient patient flow and communicate appointment status
• Administer ophthalmic medications as directed
• Sterilize instruments and maintain ophthalmic equipment
• Triage patient phone calls according to clinical protocols
• Assist patients with contact lens insertion and removal
• Clinical Skills & Equipment Experience Preferred
