Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist to join our ASC in Queens, NY. The full-time CST will help the OR run smoothly by preparing instruments, maintaining sterile technique, and assisting surgeons during procedures.

Required are graduation from an accredited surgical tech program, knowledge of sterilization, and 1+ year OR experience; ophthalmology tech certification is preferred. We offer a collaborative culture and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited program for surgical techniques or equivalent practical experience.
• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and their appropriate uses.
• 1+ year working in an operating room environment, preferably as a surgical technician.
• Certification or training in ophthalmology surgical techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up autoclaves and ensure sterile processing is functioning properly.
• Inspect OR suite daily for cleanliness and readiness.
• Gowning and gloving in accordance with sterile technique; assist with cases.
• Set up phaco and retina equipment and assist surgeons as needed.
• Maintain instrument table, stands, and instruments in proper order; manage turnover.
