Job summary

American Vision Partners, an ophthalmology-focused organization, seeks a surgical technologist to prepare the operating room, assist the surgeon, and maintain sterile techniques across multiple locations. The role involves patient transfer, instrument handling, and collaborative support with front desk duties as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a CST and a credentialed surgical technologist program, with ophthalmology experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• CST Certification required.
• Experience working in a surgical environment; Ophthalmology experience is a plus.
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible schedule Monday-Friday.
• Travel to other locations may be required—travel time and mileage are paid benefits!

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgery, gathering equipment and supplies and ensuring sterility.
• Assists with washing, shaving and disinfecting the surgical site.
• Maintains sterile field and sterile technique at all times.
• Assists in draping, passing sterile instruments, and supporting the surgeon.
• Anticipates needs and ensures necessary equipment and instruments are available.
• Handles specimen care and wound dressing disposal.
• Transfers patients to and from the operating room.
• Supports front desk with phones, chart pulling, and clerical tasks.
