Job summary

University of Rochester is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join the OR team at 601 Elmwood Ave, Rochester, NY. You will prepare instruments, assist the surgical team, and support intraoperative care for ophthalmology procedures in an inpatient setting.

This is a full-time, rotating shift role from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM with on-call duties. Candidates must have an active CST license or meet NYS requirements to be grandfathered.

Qualifications

• Active CST license or eligibility to be grandfathered under NYS requirements.
• Effective communication with surgical team and OR staff.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills for perioperative care.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, equipment and supplies for procedures.
• Assist surgeons and support the patient during intraoperative care.
• Maintain sterile technique and safe handling of sharps.
• Assist with room turnover between cases and postoperative counts.
• Serve as a patient advocate and support inpatient perioperative care.
