Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a medical practice, preferably ophthalmology.
• Experience with patient billing practices, managed care, Medicare/Medi‑Cal, and commercial carriers.
• Ability to explain complex scheduling and authorization processes clearly.
• Experience scheduling patient appointments in computerized scheduling systems.
• Excellent organizational skills to ensure accurate surgical scheduling and records.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse patients and staff.
• Ability to prioritize work and follow through with minimal supervision.
• Strong record-keeping skills for sharing records with co-workers.
• Flexible, able to handle interruptions and emergencies affecting scheduling.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and schedule surgical and laser procedures for assigned physicians.
• Schedule pre-operative testing and appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations; assist with billing guidance.
• Serve as patient liaison through pre- and post-operative processes.
