Job summary

Central Florida Eye Specialists, affiliated with EyeSouth Partners, seeks a Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator to manage the administrative and clinical support for ophthalmology procedures. You will coordinate surgery scheduling, pre-op testing, authorizations, and patient communication to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Role requires accurate documentation, strong communication, and the ability to travel to multiple practice locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as Surgical Scheduler/Coordinator; ophthalmology experience preferred.
• Experience with EHR software; Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of contracted insurance plans and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to all practice locations as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Schedules ophthalmic surgeries (cataract, glaucoma, oculoplastic) per surgeon availability.
• Obtains pre-authorizations for surgeries and verifies benefits.
• Contacts patients to confirm surgery dates and instructions.
• Provides pre/post-operative instructions and education materials.
• Maintains surgical packets, charts, and operative documentation.
• Ensures HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information.
