Job summary

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of surgical scheduling experience, preferably ophthalmology.
Proven customer service experience, in-person and over the phone.
Proficiency with EMR systems (ModMed a plus).
Excellent verbal and written communication, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Schedule ophthalmic surgeries in coordination with surgeons, centers, and patients.
Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed.
Confirm pre-operative testing and medical clearances.
Review and discuss surgical consents and medications with patients.
Communicate pre- and postoperative instructions clearly and compassionately.
Serve as liaison among patients, surgeons, centers, and billing for coordinated care.
Maintain accurate EMR records and use external portals as needed.
