Job summary

Horizon Eye Care is seeking an experienced ophthalmic patient services professional to coordinate pre-operative activities, schedule surgeries, and manage data for upcoming procedures. The role focuses on delivering a smooth surgical experience and clear patient communication across Horizon Eye Care locations.

You will handle pre- and post-operative scheduling, ensure accurate medical records, and maintain HIPAA-compliant information while interfacing with surgeons, patients, and care teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• JCAHPO Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) required within 6 months of hire.
• At least two years of experience in the field or a related area.
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison between patient, surgeon, primary care physician, co-managing optometrist, and facility for pre-operative preparations.
• Schedules all patient surgeries and post-op checks and communicates clear instructions.
• Assembles and reviews charts, bookings, allergies, medications, and insurance information for upcoming surgeries.
• Obtains patient consent and necessary documentation; ensures HIPAA-compliant handling of information.
