American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking a Specialty Surgery Counselor in Chandler, AZ to guide patients through the surgical process and ensure a smooth, exceptional experience. You will coordinate appointments, verify details, and help manage the patient journey from pre-op to post-op.

This role requires strong communication, multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality while delivering best-in-class care.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year experience in medical field and counseling of surgical patients preferred.
• Experience in ophthalmology or optometry preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail oriented, reliable and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Aufgaben

• Counsels patients for surgery by providing clear, concise details about what to expect.
• Reviews all surgery paperwork with patients; consent for procedures.
• Schedules all pertinent appointments, including pre-operative and post-operative as applicable by specialty.
• Fills surgeon’s schedules to capacity and knows steps to fill the day.
• Follows up on canceled procedures and patients who no-show on day of procedure if not rescheduled.
• Ensures all patient out-of-pocket money owed is collected prior to surgery (copays, coinsurance, deductible, etc.).
• Prepares surgical charts, labels documents with relevant paperwork.
• Helps maintain referring provider relationships.
• Helps create a quality patient experience.
• Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.
