Job summary

EyeCare Partners LLC seeks an Ophthalmic Scribe/Technician to support physicians in a fast-paced ophthalmology clinic in Royal Oak, MI. The role involves performing preliminary workups, assisting with examinations, and ensuring accurate documentation in the EMR system.

Ideal candidates have knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, strong typing, and excellent communication skills. Department: Ophthalmology. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• COA or COT certification preferred.
• OSC certification preferred.
• Experience with EMR and ophthalmic terminology.

Responsibilities

• Scribe for physicians and assist with examinations.
• Prepare patients and rooms for treatments and minor procedures.
• Record patient medical/ophthalmic history and medications.
• Identify patient concerns and notify physician or Office Coordinator.
• Measure/record visual acuity and refraction with objective equipment.
• Measure intraocular pressures and observe pupillary responses.
• Assist with patient education and basic tests.
• Instill eye drops and assist with dressings after procedures.
• Maintain clinics and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
