Associated Retinal Consultants is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe/Technician to support physicians in a busy ophthalmology clinic. The role includes scribing, patient prep, history collection, basic ocular testing, and assisting with examinations and treatments.

The ideal candidate will have ophthalmic terminology knowledge, EMR proficiency, and strong communication skills. This on-site position requires attention to detail and excellent patient service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must understand ophthalmic terminology and EMR usage.
• Accurate typing and data entry with attention to detail.
• Clear written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work with patients in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Function as a scribe, supporting retina physicians during exams.
• Prepare patients and rooms for treatments and minor procedures.
• Collect past and current medical history and medications.
• Record vital signs and basic ocular measurements as directed.
• Perform preliminary vision tests and document findings.
• Assist in administration of eye drops and minor procedures.
• Enter accurate procedure codes in EMR and ensure correct charges.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam and treatment rooms.
• Provide courteous customer service to patients and families.
• May participate in patient transfers and travel to other locations as needed.
• May perform clerical tasks such as scheduling and filing.
