• Ophthalmic terminology knowledge is required and EMR familiarity is essential.
• Accurate typing speed and precision in medical terms and numbers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with patients and staff.
• Team-oriented approach delivering excellent patient service.

Responsibilities

• Function as Scribe; perform preliminary work-ups in a clinic.
• Prepare patients and rooms for treatments as directed by Physician.
• Record medical and ophthalmic history, meds, allergies, and family history.
• Note potential patient concerns and communicate to staff.
• Measure visual acuity, refraction, and intraocular pressures as trained.
• Assist with basic examinations and patient education under Physician.
• Prepare and assist with procedures; document vitals and orders.
• Maintain EMR accuracy, procedure coding, and room supplies.
• Process minor clerical tasks and may travel to other locations.
