Job summary

Retina Consultants of Texas in Bellaire, TX is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to document ocular examinations, summarize findings, and code with ICD-10 and CPT while maintaining patient flow at the Bellaire Clinic.

The ideal candidate has at least 6 months in a medical office (ophthalmology preferred), strong English communication, and the ability to multi-task. A high school diploma is required; scribe certification is a plus. Clinic hours are Mon–Fri, 6:30am–6:30pm with potential for overtime.

Qualifications

• Takes accurate documentation of physician verbalizations during examinations.
• Maintains proper charting including assessment, recommendations and treatment details.
• Understands HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Summarizes physician examinations and ensures proper charting.
• Performs ICD10 and CPT coding in patient charts.
• Supports clinic flow and assists during exams as needed.
• Ensures patient understands instructions and follows up as required.
• Maintains documentation amendments per practice protocols.
