Job summary

Retina Consultants of Texas is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to join our Brenham team. You will accurately document ocular examinations, summarize findings, and ensure correct ICD10/CPT coding while maintaining patient flow and clear appointment status communication.

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma, with ophthalmology experience or Scribe certification preferred. The role requires travel to clinics and offers a weekday schedule with possible weekend hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in medical office settings, ophthalmology preferred.
• Scribe certification is preferred to support charting and coding.

Responsibilities

• Summarize and document physician examinations and recommendations for charts.
• Ensure accurate ICD10 and CPT coding in patient charts.
• Maintain patient flow and assist during exams as directed.
• Provide patient education materials and confirm follow-up appointments.
• Support ophthalmic technician duties and communicate schedule changes.
