Job summary

Retina Consultants of Texas is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe to join our team. You will accurately document examinations, summarize findings, and code using ICD10 and CPT in patient charts while helping manage patient flow at the Schertz Clinic.

Travel to surrounding clinics is required; typical hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30am–6:30pm, with potential later evenings and weekend hours. The role supports a leading retina-focused practice across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• 6 months of experience in a medical office, preferably ophthalmology.
• Scribe certification preferred; ability to perform accurate coding.
• High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Summarize and document physician examinations with CPT/ICD10 coding.
• Maintain patient flow and confirm insurance authorization before treatment.
• Educate patients and provide written instructions as needed.
• Support ophthalmic technician duties and assist during exams.
• Notify physician of schedule changes and keep charts up to date.
