Job summary

Retina Consultants of Texas seeks an Ophthalmic Scribe for our Pearland clinic. You will document examinations, summarize findings, and handle ICD10/CPT coding while maintaining smooth patient flow and appointment status.

Applicants should have at least 6 months in a medical office (ophthalmology preferred), be fluent in English, and able to travel to multiple clinics. Pay starts at $20+ per hour with overtime opportunities and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience documenting in a medical setting, preferred ophthalmology.
• Familiarity with CPT/ICD-10 coding and medical terminology.
• HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality awareness.

Responsibilities

• Summarize and document physician examination notes, including assessment and treatment recommendations.
• Accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding in patient charts.
• Support patient flow and communicate appointment status to patients and front desk.
• Assist during exams as needed and provide patient education materials.
• Confirm insurance authorization prior to treatment and update charts accordingly.
• Coordinate with clinic staff to minimize flow disruptions and schedule follow-ups.
