Job summary

Qualifications

• Education: GED or high school diploma; bachelor's preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Record ocular and systemic history and measure visual acuity.
• Perform testing such as OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, and biometry.
• Perform lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exams, tonometry, and muscle balance testing.
• Scribe data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administer topical or oral medications.
• Ensure procedures comply with protocols and obtain informed consent.
• Assist with patient education and manage patient flow.
• Maintain exam room cleanliness and orderliness.
