Job summary

Prism Vision Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant for an onsite role at South Jersey Eye Physicians, Columbus, NJ. The position involves conducting ocular and systemic history intake, performing ophthalmic tests, and documenting results for physician review.

The candidate will assist with testing (OCT, automated fields, photography, biometry), administer medications, help educate patients, and maintain exam room standards and patient flow. Experience in ophthalmology is valued.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience is desirable; 2+ years acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
  • Record ocular and systemic history and visual acuity.
  • Perform tests (OCT, automated fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry).
  • Perform lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exam with tonometry and anterior chamber assessment.
  • Enter data into EMR or paper charts as appropriate.
  • Administer topical or oral medications.
  • Assist with patient education and office protocols.
  • Manage patient flow and exam room cleanliness.
