Job summary

Responsibilities include history taking, OCT, visual fields, photography, tonometry, biometry, scribing, and assisting with informed consent and education. High school diploma required; bachelor’s preferred; OA-I to OA-II experience considered.

Qualifications

• OA-I: 0–2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• OA-II: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform tests: OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Conduct lensometry, automated refractometry, tonometry, and basic exam.
• Act as scribe and enter data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administer topical or oral medications and obtain informed consent.
