Job summary

Surgery Partners is hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant for the Key-Whitman Eye Center in McKinney, TX. You will work closely with clinic physicians to perform a range of ophthalmic tests and assist with patient care in a fast-paced setting.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of ophthalmic scribe experience, strong EMR skills, and excellent communication. Relevant certifications such as JCAHPO are preferred, CPR is a plus, and HIPAA compliance is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year Medical/Ophthalmic Scribe experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• JCAHPO certification preferred.
• CPR preferred.
• HIPAA knowledge and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Obtain accurate patient history and document medical records.
• Perform basic to advanced ophthalmic testing and measurements.
• Record treatment plans and procedures ordered by physicians.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications and perform tonometry.
• Assist physicians with punctual plugs and post-operative instructions.
• Maintain sterile surgical instructions and EMR accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and staff.
