Job summary

Surgery Partners — Key-Whitman Eye Center, Dallas KW Clinic, is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to work closely with physicians and clinical staff to deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice.

You will obtain patient histories, perform diagnostic testing, document clinical findings in the EMR, assist with procedures, and ensure patients receive clear post-operative instructions while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in medical/ophthalmic setting preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with EMR and general computer applications.
• HIPAA knowledge and patient privacy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document patient histories.
• Perform lensometry and visual acuity testing.
• Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic testing (HVF, HRT, IOLMaster).
• Document findings in EMR and communicate treatment plans.
• Assist with ophthalmic procedures and medications.
• Maintain equipment and ensure HIPAA compliance.
