Wake Forest University Health Sciences in Greensboro, NC is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Assistant to perform preliminary screenings and support ophthalmology clinics. The role requires CPR certification, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of eye-care experience.

You will maintain exam lanes and equipment, ensure patient safety and confidentiality, and participate in continuing education to maintain COA certification and skills.

Qualifications

• Must have High School diploma or GED.
• CPR certification required (AHA or Red Cross).
• One year work experience, preferably in eye-related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary screenings: medical/ocular histories, visual acuity, tonometry, lensometry, pupil exam, meds, visual field testing.
• Maintain ophthalmic exam lanes/equipment in clinic.
• Clean ophthalmic equipment and keep exam rooms stocked.
• Interact with patients, families, coworkers, and physicians professionally.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and a positive workplace atmosphere.
• Maintain CPR certification during employment and participate in ongoing education.
