Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks an Operator I to operate and maintain sludge, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment in a refinery/industrial facility under direct supervision. Responsibilities include learning to operate pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment and sludge processing filters.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate knowledge of all general safety rules and the consequences of breaking these rules.
• Demonstrate knowledge of all procedures related to the equipment being operated.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain sludge, de-watering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment.
• Collect liquid and solid samples and perform routine sampling testing.
• Log and record process readings.
• Work in a team environment and be willing to take on additional responsibilities.
• Safely work on and around the job location.
• Keep the work area neat and clean.
