Job summary

Veolia in North America seeks an Operator I to operate and maintain sludge and water treatment equipment in an industrial facility. The role requires basic math, English literacy, and the ability to work in a team and on-call shifts.

A valid driver's license and drug/background checks are required. Responsibilities include operating pumps, centrifuges, valves, mixers, and testing devices, while maintaining safety standards and using process control software.

Qualifications

Must read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions).
Must be able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Must be able to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on call if required by site.
Must be able to use computer programs for process control.

Responsibilities

Operates and maintains sludge, dewatering treatment, processing, disposal and testing equipment.
Demonstrates ability to learn and independently operate pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, sludge processing filters, belt presses and measuring/control devices.
Works in a team environment and assumes additional responsibilities as needed.
Spends all time in an operations environment and adheres to safety protocols.
