Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking an Operator I to operate and maintain sludge treatment and testing equipment in an industrial facility to purify water to meet customer specifications.

You will learn to operate pumps, centrifuges, conveyors and measurement devices, work in a team, and support 24-hour emergency on-call if required. A High School Diploma is required and a valid driver’s license is needed; drug test and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Must read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions).
• Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain sludge treatment, dewatering, processing, disposal and testing equipment to purify water per customer specs.
• Learn to operate pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control and measurement/control devices.
• Work in a team environment and willingly take on new responsibilities as needed.
• Use computer programs for process control.
