Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Temple, TX is seeking an Operator A for Bedding on 1st shift, starting at 7:00 am, with overtime as needed to complete the day’s work.

You will operate sophisticated, computerized machinery, perform quality checks, make manual adjustments to meet specifications, and record data into the system. The role requires reading and following written instructions in English, lifting heavy foam pieces, and staying flexible for overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; on-the-job training provided.
• Prior machine experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for an Operator A - Bedding - Temple, TX - 1st Shift Start time 7:00 am with overtime as needed to complete the work for the day.

As the Operator A, you will be responsible for operating sophisticated, computerized machinery and making manual adjustments based on product specifications. The position also conducts quality checks on material, verifies proper equipment operation, and reports any maintenance issues to supervisors. They will follow the cutting schedule efficiently to minimize waste, reduce downtime, and record data into the system.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED. On the-job training is provided, though prior machine experience is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read a tape measure, use a computer for daily operations, and demonstrate strong basic math skills.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift and adjust heavy foam pieces weighing 35 to 50lbs. in a manufacturing environment with temperature fluctuations.
• Availability: Must be able to work flexible hour, including overtime and weekends.
• Communication: Ability to read, write, and follow written verbal instructions in English.
