Job summary

Carpenter Co. seeks an Operator B – LMAT in Temple, TX (1st shift, 7:00 am start) to transport materials for production and shipping. You will operate a forklift in a busy warehouse, ensure safety, and communicate with management daily to meet production schedules.

Responsibilities include moving raw materials to staging, finished goods to warehouse, and following the company Safe Stacking Policy. Training on safety and proper handling is provided.

Qualifications

• Must read and understand labeling process.
• Maintain a neat, safe work environment.
• Recharge batteries or propane tanks as instructed.
• Understand Safe Stacking Policy and restricted areas.
• Drive forklift in reverse to move products.
• Operate forklift following safety rules.

Carpenter Co has an immediate opening for an Operator B - LMAT - Temple, TX - 1st Shift Start time 7:00 am with overtime as needed to complete the work for the day.

This position is responsible for the efficient and safe transporting of unfinished and/or finished product or material for internal or external customers to specific locations for manufacturing, storing, or unloading to achieve the necessary results to meet a production schedule and/or shipping schedule.

As an Operator B you will work in a manufacturing/warehouse environment transporting raw materials to production staging area and transporting finished mattresses to a warehouse area for shipment to external customers. This position requires daily communication between management and other employees in the department. It will require operation of a forklift in congested, confined areas where other forklifts are operating and other employees are working and walking.

Skills/Requirements

• Must be able to read and completely understand the labeling process.
• Maintain a neat, orderly and safe work environment.
• Recharge batteries or propane tanks, as instructed.
• Understanding of the Carpenter Company Safe Stacking Policy and recognition of Prohibited and Restricted area requirements.
• Must be able to drive a forklift in reverse transporting finished and/or unfinished product to a specific location.
• Must operate a forklift in compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
