MV Transportation is seeking an Operations and Safety Manager to lead training, safety, and staff development for passenger transportation operations. You will recruit, train, and supervise operators, coordinate safety programs, and ensure regulatory compliance across the service area.

Responsibilities include developing training, managing investigations, and partnering with client and corporate teams to maintain high safety standards and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Certifications according to local contract requirements.
• Previous passenger transportation in current project or similar environment required.
• Previous training and supervisory experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent safety and service record.
• Knowledge of local training program and local operations.
• Familiarization with service area.
• Knowledge of project specific vehicles, components, and data/communications systems.
• Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety programs and policies.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments.
• Ability to work independently and objectively.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow up to department staff.
• Familiar with Windows-based computer operating systems and Microsoft Office packages.
• Strong analytical skills.

Responsabilités

• Recruit and screen potential new hire operator candidates to meet staffing needs.
• Manage new hire and veteran operator training programs with required annual training.
• Community outreach to identify hiring sources.
• Provide and/or manage classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction in vehicle operation.
• Provide ongoing refresher training on topics relevant to service area.
• Respond to operator accidents and incidents with proper documentation.
• Review accidents for cause and retraining needs.
• Manage Drug and Alcohol Testing program per policy.
• Establish Safety Committee to review concerns and advise management.
• Assist in identifying training needs with operations and maintenance.
• Ensure documentation of training activities and records.
• Build relationships with client agency personnel for training needs.
• Work with claims staff to manage liability and workers' compensation.
• Proactively manage employee injury claims to minimize downtime.
• Audit training and vehicle maintenance files and conduct safety audits.
• Ensure operator performance reviews and feedback, identify training needs.
• Hire and manage safety department staff with proper qualifications.
• Keep training materials up to date and inventory secured.
• Provide regular reports on safety, training, and claims status.
• Ensure service delivery aligns with client contract standards.
• Coordinate dispatcher/reservations activities.
• Maintain positive work environment and professional growth.
• Monitor dispatchers, call-takers, and vehicles performance.
• Enter payroll information daily in appropriate software.
• Address employee concerns and assist with benefits.
• Ensure fares are accurately collected and deposited daily.
• Research trips with Trapeze Scheduling software.
• Evaluate and manage staff performance.
• Monitor daily productivity and adjust schedules.
• Troubleshoot tablet issues.
