Job summary

Navigant Credit Union seeks an Operations Quality Control Specialist I to support accurate, compliant, and efficient deposit and lending operations. The role performs core QC reviews and helps shift the team from reactive problem-solving to proactive risk reduction through coaching and process improvements.

The position requires five years of banking experience, strong analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Five years of prior banking experience required, preferably in retail banking, deposit services, loan servicing, operations, or quality control.
• Solid understanding of retail banking and operations processes, including deposit account opening, account maintenance, and lending support.
• Knowledge of deposit account regulations, lending-related compliance, and operational risk controls.
• Analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to explain procedures clearly.
• Ability to coach, teach, and support others while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily operational quality control reviews for deposit and lending operations; verify accuracy and documentation.
• Identify documentation gaps and discrepancies; coordinate corrective actions to maintain data integrity and reduce risk.
• Analyze findings and trends; perform root-cause analysis and propose practical improvements.
• Share knowledge, educate, coach, and support operations staff with training materials.
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable banking regulations and internal policies affecting processes.
• Support policy updates and cross-functional collaboration to align with priorities and risk goals.
• Prepare and share quality results and improvement recommendations with leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide operational support on special projects including tax reporting, system testing, and audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
