Job summary

ThompsonGas is seeking an Operations Manager in Manassas, VA to lead day-to-day branch operations including scheduling, customer care, and invoicing. You will project workforce needs, coordinate vehicle maintenance, and ensure DOT compliance while driving service excellence.

Ideal candidates have propane retail experience, CDL with HazMat/Airbrakes/Tanker endorsements, and strong communication skills. The role may require evenings, weekends, and physical tasks, with a focus on safety and service

Qualifications

• Experience in managing propane retail operations preferred.
• CTEP certification a plus.
• CDL with HazMat, Airbrakes, or Tanker endorsements preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT safety requirements.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor staff and deliver customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage daily service-related scheduling, customer care, and invoicing.
• Plan workforce and material needs to meet seasonal demand.
• Coordinate vehicle fleet maintenance, repairs, and licensing.
• Design and implement service processes including work orders and dispatch.
• Ensure safety meetings are completed on time.
• Maintain fuel distribution and inventory quality control.
• Review DOT compliance and performance reviews for staff.
• Possibly require evenings and weekends.
• Must lift up to 75 lbs.
• Work outdoors in all weather.
