Job summary

ThompsonGas is seeking an Operations Manager to lead daily branch operations, including distribution, storage, sales, and service activities. You will oversee scheduling, invoicing, and workforce planning to meet seasonal demand and maintain high service levels.

The role requires CDL in good standing, DOT knowledge, and strong leadership with a customer-service focus. Expect outdoor work in all weather and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to lead through coaching and mentoring with a customer service focus.
• Past field work in propane and distillate retail desired.
• Gas piping experience is highly preferred.
• Must have a valid CDL Class A or B or willing to obtain.
• Hazardous Materials, Airbrakes and Tanker endorsements or willingness to obtain.
• Working knowledge of DOT safety requirements.
• Comfortable with back-office systems used to support the business.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise day-to-day branch operations, including distribution, storage, sales and service.
• Project workforce and material needs to meet seasonal demand and coverage.
• Coordinate vehicle fleet maintenance, repairs and licensing.
• Design and execute service processes (work orders, parts, repairs, dispatch).
• Manage fuel distribution and inventory compliance.
• Ensure safety meetings are completed and DOT compliance is maintained.
• Conduct performance reviews and approve weekly hours for branch staff.
