Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking qualified candidates for its Management Trainee program in the United States. The program provides hands-on training across service center operations, including logistics, freight management, and team leadership, with mentorship and potential CDL eligibility.

Trainees learn to manage shifts and departments, emphasize safety and quality, and are evaluated through knowledge indicators and performance metrics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Experience with computer/PC software (Word, Excel).
• AS400 background helpful.

Responsibilities

• Complete shift manager training under supervision.
• Trainees will complete forklift training and production exercises.
• Obtain CDL license through OD Truck Driving Training.
• Fill in as supervisor on various shifts and departments.
• Develop and implement new process indicators and changes.
• Record-keeping in AS400 and payroll updates in Workday.
• Write monthly activity reports.
• Assign work to employees per daily schedule.
