Job summary

Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc. is recruiting Management Trainees for hands-on training across service center operations, from logistics to team leadership. Trainees will learn to manage shifts, supervise departments, and pursue the CDL and forklift training path.

Program emphasizes safety, quality, efficiency, and service while providing mentorship and opportunities for advancement within a thriving carrier with over 90 years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• AS400 experience is helpful; other PC software skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete shift manager's training as an understudy with an experienced manager or supervisor.
• Trainees complete forklift training and production exercises on all jobs within the service center.
• Participate in the Old Dominion Truck Driving Training program to obtain CDL license.
• Fill in as a supervisor on various shifts and departments.
• Develop new indicators and implement process improvements in operations.
• Maintain records of efficiency, quality, cost, and loads.
• Update payroll and employee information in Workday as needed.
• Write and submit monthly activity reports.
