Job summary

Target's Supply Chain Operations Internship offers hands-on leadership experience in a distribution center. As an Operations Intern, you’ll gain a realistic preview of life as an Operations Manager, working with managers and teammates to learn how daily operations are executed and how to drive results while ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• Participation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership roles.
• Strong interest in working in retail, specifically within our supply chain facilities.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• Problem-solving skills and strong initiative.
• Team-oriented thinking with enthusiasm for continuous learning.
• Ability to access all levels and areas of the facility to respond to team member issues.
• Understand instructions, reports, and information.
• Climb up and down ladders.
• Scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 15 pounds and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the daily operations with the operational team.
• Drive continuous improvement using CI methodologies to create a lean operation.
• Plan daily goals and organize shift plans to meet targets.
• Conduct safety walks, audits, and report findings.
• Coach team members and provide timely performance feedback.
• Collaborate with department leaders to develop team culture and effectiveness.
