Job summary

Capital Electric in Charlotte, NC is seeking an Operations Manager to lead multi-shift Transportation and Wire operations, establish standard work, and drive continuous improvement. You will develop teams, monitor KPIs, and ensure safe, on-time performance for customers.

Responsibilities include coordinating material flow between Wire, Inventory, Shipping and Dispatch, and aligning staffing with demand while controlling costs. A data-driven, safety-focused leader is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in warehouse or transportation leadership.
• Experience leading multiple operations functions across shifts.
• Knowledge of dispatch, routing, and safety/compliance.
• Experience with CI methodologies and KPI-driven improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day Transportation and Wire operations across multiple shifts.
• Establish standard work for wire cutting, quality verification, labeling, reel management, staging, dispatch readiness, and inventory accuracy.
• Manage workload, staffing, productivity, scrap, quality, capacity, and on-time completion using measurable KPIs and clear performance expectations.
• Coordinate material and information flow between Wire, Inventory, Picking, Shipping, Dispatch, Transportation, and branch operations.
• Coordinate large or complex wire orders, staged deliveries, JIT requirements, same-day needs, and other jobs requiring early alignment between Wire and Transportation.
• Oversee transportation execution, including dispatch, route and schedule coordination, manifest closure, transportation documentation, local claims, service exceptions, and last-mile delivery performance.
• Monitor transportation capacity, service, cost, and delivery performance; identify risks early and implement corrective actions before customer commitments are affected.
• Ensure efficient use of labor, equipment, fleet, and operational resources while supporting budget and service objectives.
• Lead CI into daily operations through KPI reviews, standard work, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and structured problem solving.
