Job summary

At Home is seeking an Assistant Store Manager – Operations to support the Store Manager in leading operational, financial, and team functions at a large-format retail store. You will drive performance, coach leaders, and ensure a safe, organized shopping environment.

The role focuses on delivering exceptional customer experiences, optimizing staffing, and maintaining strong execution standards to meet company goals and budgeted targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership experience in a big-box or high-volume retail environment.
• Experience leading teams of 20+ team members and managing $5M+ in annual revenue or budget.
• Knowledge of freight, inventory control, stocking, and merchandising; maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Strong communication, integrity, and ethical business practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with HRIS and scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Drive store operation execution to achieve sales, profit, and performance goals while delivering a customer-focused experience.
• Attract, hire, and develop talent; build internal bench strength and succession plans.
• Coach and develop team; encourage continuous improvement and internal career growth.
• Plan staffing, scheduling, and payroll accuracy to drive sales, control expenses, and improve profitability.
• Oversee operations including opening/closing and front-end processes for efficiency and readiness.
• Direct freight, inventory, stocking, and merchandising to maintain in-stock conditions and a safe environment.
• Lead communications via regular huddles and team meetings.
• Ensure compliance with policies, laws, and regulations; foster inclusive culture.
