Job summary

La Familia Sana is seeking a Director of Operations to lead organizational operations, systems, and compliance. This role reports to the Executive Director and will oversee HR, facilities, technology, risk management, and administration to enable mission delivery and sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with strong people leadership, project management, and a systems-building mindset, thriving in a growing nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
• Experience managing staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience overseeing organizational operations, compliance, budgets, and systems.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit management and organizational infrastructure.
• Experience with public funding, grants, contracts, or government-funded programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong project management and organizational abilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and cloud-based systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a strategic partner to the Executive Director.
• Oversee HR, facilities, risk management, technology, and administrative functions.
• Develop and improve organizational systems and internal controls.
• Lead strategic planning and implementation efforts.
• Manage projects with timelines, budgets, and accountability measures.
• Support governance, reporting, and board updates.
• Lead HR processes including onboarding, records, and compliance.
• Promote culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
