Job summary

CarMax is seeking an Operations Manager in Training to lead Service Operations across one or more locations in Smithtown, NY. This program develops leadership through hands-on management of inventory, cosmetic and production processes, and collaboration with Sales, Business Office, and Purchasing teams.

You will be part of CarMax’s Senior Management Development Program, with responsibilities for staff development, performance management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Interpret and maintain accurate data records.
• Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to make independent, critical business decisions.
• Proven ability to lead leaders, manage complex operations, and balance priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• 3+ years of management experience, retail management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a Senior Manager on the store leadership team, providing strategic leadership across Service Operations.
• Directly and indirectly lead multiple managers and a large frontline workforce.
• Own operational execution with KPIs, capacity, quality, cycle time, and cost controls.
