Job summary

Cygnus, Inc. seeks a senior thinking manager of operations and business development to oversee, coordinate, troubleshoot, and improve overall operations. You will work with engineering, production, and finance to maximize efficiency and contract awards.

The role reports to the GM and requires a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, with experience in fabrication, machining, heat treat, painting, and assembly. Expect a dynamic, cross-department collaboration environment.

Qualifications

• Education – 4-year Business degree and / or 4-year Engineering Degree is required.
• Open to new graduates with high-quality manufacturing background in aerospace, electronics, medical, etc.
• Knowledge of machine shop equipment: CNC Mills, CNC lathes, CNC routers, waterjet, brakes, shears, heat treat, processing, painting, assembly.
• Must have reading, writing, comprehension, Excel, math skills, and be familiar with financial analysis, income statements, and balance sheets.
• Mechanical aptitude and spatial cognizance to read drawings, blueprints, specs, and quality requirements.
• Strong sense of urgency, self-motivation, and good team communication.
• Commitment to ethical, honest, open communication within the team.

Responsibilities

• Actively learn and contribute at the highest level for the GM, Business Development, and Operations.
• Pursue continuous business improvement in bids, job costs, production methods, and costs to reduce expenses and increase sales.
• Expand customer markets and sales based on Cygnus values of quality, delivery, and attention to detail.
