Job summary

MetLife is seeking an Operational Risk Management Lead Consultant to oversee the ORM function within the Group Benefits business. You will engage across Global Risk Management and partner with leaders to maintain an ongoing view of operational risk, elevate concerns, and drive mitigation activities.

You will establish partnerships and implement an operating model to proactively identify, monitor, and manage operational risks in support of strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; 7–10 years in risk management, internal audit, control management, operations, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of life insurance, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven understanding of operational risk frameworks, control environments, and risk mitigation practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to translate data into insights.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk governance oversight ensuring compliance with risk frameworks, policies, and appetite standards.
• Act as strategic advisor to business leaders by identifying risks and supporting informed decisions.
• Partner with business and control functions to design and monitor risk mitigation strategies and analytics.
• Lead risk assessment activities including monitoring events, issues, remediation, and KRIs.
• Strengthen risk practices through processes, training, and integration of new technologies.
