Job summary

MetLife’s Global Risk Management Group is seeking an Operational Risk Management Lead Consultant to oversee the ORM risk function for the Group Benefits business. You will identify, monitor, and manage operational risks, escalating concerns and driving mitigation with business leaders and control functions.

This role partners across Global Risk Management to implement an ongoing operating model and proactive risk management aligned with strategic priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; 7–10 years in risk management, internal audit, control management, operations, or related field.
• Strong knowledge of life insurance industry, risk management frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
• Proven understanding of operational risk frameworks, control environments, and risk mitigation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to translate data into insights.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk governance oversight aligned with frameworks, policies, and risk appetite.
• Advise business leaders on risks, insights, and informed decisions.
• Partner with business and control functions to design and monitor risk mitigation strategies.
• Lead risk assessment activities, monitor risk events, issues, remediation, and KRIs.
• Strengthen risk practices through processes, training, and stakeholder engagement.
