Job summary

OneCHRISTUS is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing pre-operative patients and equipment for surgical procedures. You will scrub in multiple specialties, maintain aseptic technique, and support the surgical team throughout cases in the Operating Room.

The role requires education in Surgical Technology, a valid BLS, and 2+ years of preferred experience; a full-time, day-shift schedule is typical in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of the Surgical Technology program or LVN/LPN program is required.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
• Under nurse supervision, performs direct patient care and assistance in the OR.
• Scrubs 3 specialty areas as needed; maintains sterile field and passes instruments.
• Assists physician and maintains proper traffic control and OR sanitation policies.
• Adapts patient assessment and care to age-specific needs; performs other duties as assigned.
