Job summary

Regional One Health in Memphis, TN seeks a Surgical Technologist to assist in preparing the operating room and provide intraoperative care. You will ensure sterile technique, assist in patient prep and draping, and support the surgical team under RN supervision.

The role requires a high school education or equivalent, active CST certification (NBSTSA/NCCT), and a CAAHEP‑accredited program, with CPR/BLS in place. Experience and TN grandfathering provisions may apply.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent is required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist with NBSTSA or NCCT certification required.
• Graduate of a CAAHEP‑accredited surgical technology program required.
• Armed forces or CAAHEP hospital/ambulatory program training acceptable.
• Must pass NBSTSA certifying exam; required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• TN grandfathering provision if applicable per statute.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room and provide intraoperative care.
• Check supplies, instrumentation and equipment for procedures.
• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout procedures.
• Assist in patient prep, draping and positioning.
• Scrub and assist circulators under RN supervision.
• Count sponges and sharps with RN prior to surgery.
• Prepare sterile dressings and assist with casts.
• Participate in resuscitation procedures as needed.
• Follow policies and document preferences on cards/patient records.
• Maintain department records and assist with orientation of new staff.

Education

High School education

NBSTSA or NCCT certification

CAAHEP‑accredited surgical technology program

Armed forces or CAAHEP hospital/ambulatory program training

NBSTSA certifying exam

Current CPR/BLS certification
