PRN Surgical Technologist — OR Support

Job summary

Regional One Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support operative procedures in the operating room, maintaining sterile technique and coordinating with RNs and surgeons. You will scrub in as needed and assist with supplies, positioning, and post-operative cleanup.

The role requires NBSTSA or NCCT certification, a CAAHEP-accredited program, CPR/BLS certification, and at least one year of ORT patient care experience. This is an on-site hospital position with standard OR duties.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent is required.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification is required.
• CAAHEP-accredited program completion is required.
• Armed forces or hospital-based training program completion is required.
• Pass NBSTSA certifying exam.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.
• At least one year of ORT or surgical tech experience required.
• TN continuing education credits (15 annually) required unless exempt.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room and intraoperative care.
• Check supplies, instrumentation, and equipment needs; ensure proper function.
• Provide sterile field and maintain linen, supplies, and instruments.
• Assist in patient preparation, draping, and positioning.
• Participate in post-operative room cleanup and restock.

Education

High School education or equivalent

Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist NBSTSA or NCCT

CAAHEP-accredited surgical technology program

Armed forces or hospital/ambulatory surgical program training

NBSTSA certifying exam passed

Current CPR/BLS certification

At least one year ORT/surgical tech experience

TN continuing education credits 15 annually
